About to move to the Bay Area (South Bay) for the first time in about 6 weeks, and I went looking for Internet for my new apartment. If your streaming 4K, that's different. A 4K Netflix stream uses about 25mb/s. So now your down to 2 streams. You'd probably want 100mbps if your going to be doing 4K streaming. You'll also probably want unlimited data for $30/month because if you do a lot of 4K streaming you'll probably hit the 1.2TB data cap.I had Comcast before. Comcast was fine but the gigabit fiber is way more consistent. If I had a choice I’d go fiber over cable anytime. AT&T may own the lines but the support on the backend is the most important part. A lot of the fiber is owned by AT&T but I'd never use them for just having piss poor support even at the business level.AT&T boasts the nation's greatest fiber and DSL network, while Xfinity is the most widely available cable ISP. Together, they offer high-speed internet service to more than half of US...Structure of their services was also wild. I could have saved $5 or $10 per month for TV and Internet, but would’ve had like 2 tiers lower TV and way lower speed, but they had a ton of incentives to go to gig speed and mid cable package. They weren't happy but the problems continued for months. The AT&T tech practically lived on our street for a while. They told my neighbors that there was a problem at the local hub and our whole zone was affected. .
